WRT Music Series 2022-2023

Join us for a musical kick-off to summer! Following our Shabbat service and a festive oneg, our beloved pianist and conductor, Pete Malinverni, together with his jazz trio, will offer a musical program of selections from his acclaimed album, On the Town: Pete Malinverni Plays Leonard Bernstein.

Pull up a chair and a picnic dinner as we gather for our annual Summer Stage concert, this year hosted by WRT! Join talented congregants and clergy from both WRT and Kol Ami for an evening of popular music and songs of love in honor of Tu B’Av, the Jewish holiday of love.

Congregational Shabbat and S'lichot Services

How does popular music illuminate the spiritual pathways of our lives? Join us for a special conversation on the meaning embedded in the music we love (with a unique emphasis on Bob Dylan from two experts) with Rabbi Jonathan Blake and author Dr. Stephen Daniel Arnoff.

Congregational Sukkot and Simchat Torah Celebration

Join us for a weekend of community, celebration, and song, as we mark Sukkot and Simchat Torah with award winning singer- songwriter, Billy Jonas. Known for making each musical experience a “soul-spelunking, heart healing, joy-filled journey,” Billy features industrial re-percussion (instruments created from recycled materials), in keeping with Sukkot’s focus on the gifts of our natural world.

Cantors' Coffeehouse: Sunday, 12/4/22, 5:30 p.m.

Cozy up with coffee or a cocktail for an evening of song with Cantor Kleinman, Cantor Rodnizki, and visiting artist, Elana Arian. A leading voice and composer in the contemporary Jewish world, Elana's musical gifts extend beyond the bima, from the folk world all the way to Broadway. The musical selections for the evening will reflect that range of styles, incorporating familiar classics with new melodies. This event is hosted by the Freebirds.

Shabbat Shirah

Friday, 2/3/23 6:15 p.m. / Saturday, 2/4/22 9:00 a.m. Celebrate the Shabbat of Song, named for the joyous song the Israelites sang as they crossed the sea from slavery into freedom. This musical Shabbat experience will feature guest artist, singer-songwriter, Chava Mirel. With influences ranging from jazz to Brazilian music and beyond, Chava's soulful voice and melodies (a number of which have been featured at WRT) will lift our spirits, just as Miriam with her timbrel.
