Canned meat or fish

Milk (shelf stable)

Canned meals (low sodium)

Canned vegetables (low sodium)

* All items should be nonperishable.  Please no glass containers or pre-opened items.  When choosing items for the food drive, please look for labels which read: low sodium, no salt added, no sugar added, unsweetened, reduced sodium, 100% fruit juice

October: Children’s and Adult’s Winter Coats and Sweaters

New and gently used.  If you are buying new coats this month, please consider donating the used coats.  Many groups in Westchester are in need starting in the fall.

November and December: Toys

New and gently used sneakers of all sizes.  Sports sneakers are also welcome.

February:  Sight and Sound

Drop off your used eyeglasses and used hearing aides.  Also consider donating new batteries for the hearing aides.

Monthly Mitzvah Reminders:

Collection Items:

Please only drop off items that have been requested as part of monthly mitzvah.  If you have items that you want to donate that fall out of the requested items listed, please contact Sharon Stiefel at who can direct you to the best drop off point or organization in need.

Collection Drop off location:

Please only leave items at the designated collection area for each collection which will be defined in the collection announcement.

Food Drop Off:

Kindly do not leave any food in the collection drawers.  During a food drive, a specific bin and/or location will be designated for the food collection which will be communicated in the collection announcement. Please verify that the items being dropped off have not expired.

Quality of Items:

Please be mindful of the quality of the donations that you kindly provide since they will be used by someone in need.  The items should be new or lightly used.  If it is a clothing item, please make sure that it fits the parameters of the requested size (e.g. adult, child) and season, so they can be of good use to the target audience in need at the time of need.
