Eli Kornreich joined the leadership team at Westchester Reform Temple (WRT) in July 2015 as Executive Director.
Raised in Brooklyn, NY, he completed his undergraduate studies at Brooklyn College, Phi Beta Kappa, with a B.A. in English. Through his activism and student leadership on campus, Eli was inspired to dedicate his career to professional Jewish leadership. As a result, he was selected by The Wexner Foundation for a Graduate Student Fellowship as a member of Class VI.
An alum of both the Columbia University Graduate School of Social Work and the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, Eli earned both an M.S. in social work and an M.A. in Jewish studies in 1995, and earned the credential of Certified in Social Worker in 1997. Eli completed the Institute for Jewish Executive Leadership in 2016, a program of the Columbia University Business School and UJA/Federation of NY. In 2019, having demonstrated deep proficiency in temple management concepts and principles, Eli earned the designation of Senior Member of the National Association for Temple Administration.
Eli has spent his career in the JCC, federation and synagogue fields, and has held chief executive positions since 2001 at the JCC & UJA/Federation of Eastern Fairfield County in Bridgeport, CT, at the Lincoln Square Synagogue on the upper west side of NYC, and at the Jewish Community Project Downtown in Tribeca, NYC.
Eli and Iva (his wife) live in New Rochelle, NY, and have three grown children.
