High Holidays Information

Shalom! We look forward to welcoming you at High Holiday services this year, and being together with you in community.

In response to member feedback, and by taking advantage of our system’s capabilities, we have made several important changes to our process and rules for this year. The changes we have made are designed to allow more WRT Members to obtain seats in the usually filled morning Sanctuary services, and make better use of the space we have available in the Intergenerational services.

We encourage you to read this full page, and to note specifically the following changes:

QR Code for Tickets

  • When you have submitted your ticket request, you will receive a QR Code that will show the most current tickets granted, including any changes made over time. Please make sure to bring your IDs for Security to match up with the names on the tickets you have, as shown by your QR code.

Changes to Tickets

  • Once you submit your ticket request, you can change your order by yourself at any time, by using your LINKS account. WRT staff are not needed to make changes.
  • If your plans change, and you no longer need some of the tickets you have requested, we encourage you to return those tickets via this change option, so that we can offer them to congregants who are on a wait list.

Wait Lists

  • If you request tickets to a service that has filled to capacity, you may join a wait list.
  • Once a filled service has a critical number of tickets returned back by other members, staff will contact wait list members (in order) and invite them to go back into the system and request the newly available tickets.

Guest Tickets

  • Certain services will have a limit of 4 guests that you can request tickets for, including the early and late Main Sanctuary services on Rosh Hashanah morning and the early and late Main Sanctuary services on Yom Kippur morning.
  • Those who wish to request more than 4 guest tickets should choose the Intergenerational services on those 2 days instead.

Reciprocal Tickets

  • Outgoing reciprocal requests (WRT members wishing to attend services elsewhere) will be self-generated by you, via a form on your LINKS account. WRT office staff are not needed to assist you with this function.
  • Incoming reciprocal requests (Members of other synagogues wishing to attend services at WRT with you, at no charge) are treated as your guests, and you should include them in your request for guest tickets.
    • Your account will be charged for incoming Reciprocal Tickets ($90 per person, per service) unless your guest’s synagogue Reciprocal Form is received by WRT staff.
  • Incoming reciprocal requests who are not guests of WRT Members will be offered seating at the Intergenerational services (not the Main Sanctuary services) on Rosh Hashanah and/or Yom Kippur morning.

Intergenerational Services

  • Please read the description of this service (click the link below), and note that we will use our High Holidays prayer book at these services this year. Last year many congregants raved about it, including enjoying Rabbi Blake giving his sermon “live” at this service.

  • We want more congregants to be aware of this exciting new option.

Erev Rosh Hashanah Youth Programming

  • Begin Rosh Hashanah together as a family in the Main Sanctuary. After approximately 20 minutes in the main service, students in grades K-5 will transition with Rabbi Citrin, Rabbinic Intern Micah Glickman, and Cantorial Intern Phil Fisherman into an interactive holiday program. Parents will pick up students at the conclusion of the main service at 7:15pm. Registration is required and a snack of apples and honey will be served.

FOR WRT MEMBERS:

Please read this entire message as the process this year has some meaningful changes.

We are delighted to offer High Holiday Tickets to all members who are current with their membership.

To review your account, please log in to the LINKS portal or contact Linda Zarra at (914) 723-2391.

Tickets are included in your Membership Dues at no extra charge (except for Non-Resident Members) for the primary adults in your household, and your children and/or guests aged 30 and younger.

Guest tickets are available for purchase for your adult children aged 31 and older, their significant others aged 31 and older, and/or adult extended family members and their significant others.  The cost is $90 per person/per day.

  • We will continue to accommodate requests for guest tickets. However, new for this year is that any party with requests for guest tickets in excess of 4 will be directed to the intergenerational service for the morning services.
  • We will continue to accommodate incoming  reciprocal (members of other synagogues who want to sit with you) ticket requests (at no charge, if we receive their Reciprocal Form). However, new for this year is that incoming reciprocal tickets are now treated as a type of guest ticket for your party, and should be requested in your overall guest ticket request (subject to the limit described above).
