New Trees in Israel for the smallest members of the WRT Community
Tu B’Shevat, the 15th of Shevat on the Jewish calendar, is the day that marks the beginning of a “New Year for Trees.” This is the season in which the earliest-blooming trees in the Land of Israel emerge from their winter sleep and begin a new fruit-bearing cycle.
To celebrate Tu B’Shevat, WRT would like to honor all the new babies born between Tu B’Shevat 5772 (February 8, 2012) and Tu B’Shevat 5773 (January 26, 2013) by planting a tree in their name in Israel. These babies will be honored with a blessing on Friday, February 1 during Shabbat Evening Services.
Do you have a new grandchild? Did you have a new addition to your family?
Please e-mail our PJ Library committee at pjlibrarywrt@gmail.com with the name of the parents, name of the child and birth date by Saturday, January 26, 2013 so that we can include your newest addition in this special evening.
Mazel Tov to all of you and Happy New Year to the Trees of Israel!
